Welcome

I am Abby, Ph.D. in Economics, currently a teaching assistant professor at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. My primary research interests are Industrial Organization, Law and Economics, and the Economics of Crime.

My research focuses on economic models of crime, misconduct, and deterrence. I construct models of incentives to commit crimes and other prohibited activities. Furthermore, my research illuminates how policymakers, firms, or other entities may optimally deter crime and other destructive activities. By far, my job market paper has been published in the Journal of Legal Studies.

I received a research grant from INBRE for my working paper aiming to understand the mask mandate policy’s impact on private entities’ economic activities during the pandemic.

Furthermore, I am a certified Python user. I mainly use Python and Stata for web scraping, data cleaning and analysis, and MATLAB for simulation.
